The Armadillo

We are still working on a name for this one but the Armadillo works for now. Designed to be delivered on site as a ready to go Pod. The basic pod comes with double glazed windows, two door entrances, side and front, cladded wooden sides, felt foor tiles, insulation and flooring.

6.4m (21ft) x 3.2m (10.5ft)

Layout options and a larger and smaller size option to the Armadillo Pod. The two larger sizes, slightly wider to allow for a small kitchen area down the side and all being able to have a bathroom at the far end (optional extras).

*Colours and fixtures may vary slightly from actual product. These are 3D rendered images of what the Armadillo will look like.

Wanting Something Different!

We build everything from scratch in our own workshop so if you are wanting something that little different for your pod we can help you.

  • Customised interior

  • Different lay-out

  • Extra doors or windows

  • Connecting pods together

  • Different size pod

We can help with all this and show you your design first using the latest in 3D modelling software. Contact us for more information.

Delivery and Installation.

We deliver and install all our domes within the UK. Our expert team of dome builders will personally assemble your dome on site. This can vary from a day to a couple of weeks if pod cannot be transported to final location. Contact us to make sure of time frame and cost for your location.

Foundations

Do you need foundations?

We build all our pods on a solid platform so providing the ground is solid enough then there is no need to poor masses of concrete. The platforms are raised on many legs and only require a solid slab to sit them on so they are not in direct contact with the ground, or ground anchors for a more solid fixing. This also means that the building is not classed a permanent structure as a crane could lift the whole building or be dismantled if needed.

Planning Permission.

This is always a tricky one, all depends on use, where abouts you want your dome etc. We advise that you check with your local authority as they will be able to point you in the right direction or a consultancy firm that will help guide you.

We Snowdon Domes take no responsibility for planning issues and will request to see permission before we build.
